A motto for this year?

5 January 2011 2 Comments

Towards the end of the excellent ‘Voyage of the Dawn Treader’ (a film you can watch with a 6 and 9 year old without feeling that you have overdosed on saccharine or bright, primary colours) Edmund, in a moment of epiphany, says something like:-

‘I’ve spent too long wanting what was taken than what was given’.

That line really hit me… I’d like that to be a guiding light for this year…

I like it that motto a lot. It remind me of something Mother Teresa said which I also like,
“Holiness is giving God what he takes, and taking what he gives with a big smile!!”
