A week of quotes:3

Continuing with the theme of yesterday:-
‘Jesus truly was dangerous. He was creating a following with a kind of thinking that was much more on the side of inclusiveness than exclusiveness…. Jesus is always moving the boundaries out while still respecting the center. That’s the key to wisdom: being grounded in the center and still, from that deep foundation, knowing how to move out’.

Today’s hymn is HP745 ‘O thou who camest from above’
O Thou who camest from above,
the pure celestial fire to impart
kindle a flame of sacred love
upon the mean altar of my heart.
There let it for thy glory burn
with inextinguishable blaze,
and trembling to its source return,
in humble prayer and fervent praise.
Jesus, confirm my heart’s desire
to work and speak and think for thee;
still let me guard the holy fire,
and still stir up thy gift in me.
Ready for all thy perfect will,
my acts of faith and love repeat,
till death thy endless mercies seal,
and make my sacrifice complete.

“That’s the key to wisdom: being grounded in the center and still, from that deep foundation, knowing how to move out.”….
These are key words to me, for I find the main problem with believers, in the area you discuss, is either a lack of really knowing that inner “connection” with Him, or in thinking themSELVES to be the authority, the power, the wisdom in where to go, what to do…..
Yup…agree with both and sometimes fall into the trap of both myself…
Leave your response!
