In the second verse, she observes: "And I've learned the wisdom I have gained comes not from battles won, nor from basking in the glory of a race that seems well run; No; it's trudging through the dry, deserted places I have been that let's me know, without a doubt, if You changed now to then....I'd choose You again, leave it all behind, Pick up Your cross and give you mine; Surrender my heart and wish there were more for me to offer this time, Lord. As sure as a road must have a bend, or a lonely heart a friend, I'm more certain ow than then...I'd choose you again". I never liked that one line about exchanging my cross for His, as it seems mis-spoken; but the lyrics otherwise connect with the journey as I have found it to be....
